Hidden Acres Lodge & Winery is a family-owned wedding and event venue located in a beautiful setting in eastern Ohio.Desiring more space for their guests, they called on Sugarcreek Builders to construct a heavy-timber addition to their existing banquet center.
The clear-span, pavilion-style design created an open and versatile space free from interior support posts.This was accomplished by using large custom-cut timbers, which make the addition feel even more substantial. The unfinished eastern white pine lends a rustic touch without overpowering the minimalist-leaning aesthetic.
Each timber had to be installed with precision to accommodate large inset glass doors and windows. Special care was also taken during the build process to protect the existing structure. Even as a new build, the space offers the feeling of old world craftsmanship, blending in perfectly with the natural setting.
